Kenny Slaybaugh

NEW OXFORD Kenneth L. Slaybaugh, 72, died Monday, August 25, 2008, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Janet L. (Hoff) Slaybaugh, his wife of 51 years. He was born January 29, 1936, in Hanover, the son of the late Harold A. and Kathryn (Brown) Slaybaugh. He drove late model and sprint cars for many years at local dirt tracks. He was a member of Emmanuel U.C.C., Hanover, the New Oxford Social & Athletic Club, AARP, and the York Co. Racing Club. In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by a son, Michael L. Slaybaugh of New Oxford; two grandchildren; a brother, Burtis L. Slaybaugh of Hanover; and a sister, Ruby Hoover of Spring Grove. He was predeceased by three brothers, Robert L., H. Lew and Raymond L. Slaybaugh; a sister, Rita J. Slenker; a stepbrother, Harry Fuhrman; and a stepsister, Betty Noel. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Feiser Funeral Home, Inc, 302 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, with the Rev. Pat Leader and the Rev. Kenneth Heasley officiating. Burial will be in York Road Cemetery, Hanover. A viewing will be held Thursday at the funeral home from 9 to 11 a.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Gene Aughenbaugh, Shaun Miller, Dale Miller, Randy Menges, Doug Black, Rich Hoff and Casey Slaybaugh.
