RAIN POSTPONES LINCOLN SPEEDWAY MAY 16TH FEATURES

Make-up dates for 410 sprints, 358 late models, and street stocks to be announced

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA , 5/16/09 - After a night of trying to beat Mother nature, Lincoln Speedway officials were forced to throw in the towel after two laps were complete in the 410 Sprint feature.

With other area race tracks calling it quits early, Lincoln Speedway soldiered on, and after a few brief delays, had the Lawrence Chevrolet 410 Sprinters on the track and racing their 25-lap feature. But after a Niki Young roll-over on the third lap involving Jeff Busby, the rains came, forcing Lincoln Speedway promoters Don and Bob Leiby, along with Alan Kreitzer, to postpone the feature events for the evening.

All three features will be completed at a date to be determined.

Heats for the 25 "410" sprinters were won by Chris Knopp, John Rudisill and Chad Trout, with Brian Leppo winning the consolation.

Heats for the 28 "358" late models were won by Travis Beaver, Mike Spangler and Shaun Jones, with Craig Wagaman winning the consolation.

Heats for the 20 street stocks were won by Walt Lemmon and Joe Whitely.

Next Saturday night, May 23rd, the Lincoln Speedway will host the Third Annual Keystone Cup Series for the 410 Sprinters. The Thundercars will round out the evening’s racing action which will get underway at 7 PM with time trials. Gates will open at 5 PM.
