Having grown up with Utica Rome Seedway in my back yard in the 60s (it was black top then) I had the privilege to watch guys like Bugsie Stevens, Eddie Flemke, Lou Lazzro, Jerry Cook, Sonny Seamon and Richie Evens just to name a few run every Sun night.
This was where my racing roots were laid down at an early age besides some trips to Oswego on Sat. to watch guys like Nolan Swift,Eddie Bellinger and jimmy Shampine.
Those guy are the guys I consider My favorites. But Don't get me wrong guys like Barefoot Bob McCreedy, Steve Smith Sr. Lynn Paxton, Donnie Kreitz, Rick Eckert, Bobby Weaver, and Freddie (there are more) still get my heart pumping when ever I seee them run.
Where were you and who were your favorites back in the 60s and 70s. |

Not a big fan of the guy, but watching Billy Pauch at East Windsor Speedway back in the day was nothing short of amazing. The guy could, and still can, drive with anyone in the country...........in any sort of car. Wolfgang, without a doubt, was my favorite local/national sprint car driver to watch...........anywhere, any day, any track. Present day has to go to Rahmer and Montieth. _________________ "Moral indignation is jealousy with a halo."
