What I've heard from several individuals, some of whom are very close to this situation, goes like this.

Keith does not want to race more than one night a week on a regular basis. Mr. Middleswarth had been okay with that but apparently changed his mind recently and put Chad Layton in one of his cars for Friday nights.

Now, Chad was not put into KEITH's car per se - they have four cars and ONE was labeled as Chad's, so Keith would not be racing the same car that Chad used the night before.

I'm told that APPARENTLY Keith does not want to be part of a team car deal again and was upset by the way he was informed of Chad's hiring, so he APPARENTLY elected to demonstrate his dissatisfaction by not showing up at Port Royal. One person told me that Al Hamilton, who sponsors the team, said that the team must be run as the business it is and that friendships and loyalties should not come into play. Accordingly, Chad Layton MAY become the full-time driver of the #7 - he has a meeting with Mr. Middleswarth on Wednesday.

That's it for the time being. No contract has been signed and no one has quit or been fired as of now, so let's not get a lot of false rumors circulating.

Ed

I bought Hartley's chips for this weekend instead of the usual Middleswarth. Most of Juniata County will follow suit . It's a business decision for us too. LOL.

Sad you would not support a sprint car team! So what if you don't like the driver you like watching the races don't you? JMO

Actually , I'm hoping to show NON-SUPPORT of that business if things go against the way I want them to go. That's MY choice.

For once i COMPLETELY agree with you Brent. I will even go a step further and say I would rather see a ride fold then see a certain driver behind the wheel acting the way he does week after week

If you don't know already, then you will soon (if he lands the ride)

I do not agree with the way they informed Keith about chad being in the car but IMO, Keith is being the petty one in this deal. Show up the nights you feel like racing and put two Middleswarth #7's on the track, that is double exposure for the team. I hope Keith stays in the #7 and does well the rest of the year. But don't be a Idiot if they put someone else in the car because you don't want to race.(JMO)

I'm guessing Keith doesn't need you to tell him what to do.
