Smith’s final win at Lincoln, win number 150, came on May 4, 1996.

Smith also saw success at Williams Grove, winning a track championship in 1989 and scoring three National Open wins. Steve’s 259 career feature wins came at a variety of tracks including Lincoln, Williams Grove, Port Royal, Hagerstown, Susquehanna and many more.

Smith represented the PA Posse well against the touring series, winning six World of Outlaw features and racking up 17 All Star Circuit of Champions victories to his name.

In 2000 Smith was inducted into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame.

Steve Smith passed away at the age of 74 on June 5, 2021. Lincoln Speedway is honored to host this race in Smith’s memory.
