Abbottstown, PA (March 16, 2024) – After starting off the Lincoln Speedway season with second and third place finishes, Danny Dietrich scored the win on Saturday night in the pigeon hills, “Just had a really good car all night long and a good pill draw all night long.” With only a handful of laps left in the 30-lap feature, Danny was working around the lapped car of Rick Lafferty and Lafferty spun in turns 1 and 2, bringing out a caution with three laps to go. That set up Dietrich to have to hold off invader, Paul Colagiovanni on the restart, “He’s really good on these diverse racetracks and is a heck of a driver. It’s just a matter of time until he gets a win down here in Central PA.” Despite a solid effort, Dietrich held off Colagiovanni on the restart and went on to score the win.

Saturday’s race was the first to implement a 1-inch wicker bill at Central PA race tracks. Danny, who has expressed support for the rule change prior to Saturday shared, “We were looking forward to the 1-inch wicker bill and ran used tires tonight because we know it isn’t going to be as hard and it worked out pretty good.”

Kyle Moody shared the front row with Dietrich to start the feature and the two raced side by side into turn 1 and down the back shoot with Dietrich claiming the lead at the line.

The yellow came out on lap one for Chad Trout who was off the pace and came to a stop in turn 1.

Dietrich led Moody, Aaron Bollinger, Dylan Norris and Paul Colagiovanni for the restart. Norris looked under Bollinger to take third and got by Moody for second at the line.

Tony Jackson brought out the yellow on lap 2 when he stopped on the front stretch.

This time the top five for the restart were Dietrich, Norris, Moody, Colagiovanni and Bollinger. Colagiovanni got by Moody for third and Matt Campbell and Anthony Macri drove by Bollinger to move into fifth and sixth.

Moody was working on getting third back from Colagiovanni as Macri worked on Campbell for a spot in the top five.

Tyler Ross slowed on the track with a flat tire on lap 6 bringing out another caution.

Dietrich, Norris, Colagiovanni, Moody and Campbell lined up to pace the field for the restart. Norris looked to the bottom of turn 1 leaving the top open for Colagiovanni. Norris held off Colagiovanni’s attempt at taking second. Macri got under Campbell and Moody in one move to drive from sixth to fourth in turn 2.

Lap 9 saw yet another caution when Cameron Smith stopped on the front stretch.

Dietrich, Norris, Colagiovanni, Macri and Campbell made up the top five for the restart. Colagiovanni tried the high side again and once again Norris held the spot. Norris started closing in on Dietrich at the half-way mark as lapped traffic loomed ahead.

Campbell took fourth back from Macri on the back stretch and Devon Borden followed sending Macri back to sixth.

Freddie Rahmer was running eighth when he flipped hard in turn 4 on lap 13 after contact with Justin Peck, bringing out the red.

Dietrich led Norris, Colagiovanni, Campbell and Borden to the cone for the single file restart. Colagiovanni went high with his best move yet and took second from Norris on the restart. Campbell followed suit and moved into third.

Troy Wagaman was challenging Borden for fifth and Peck joined making it a three-way battle for the spot. Borden held the position for the moment but Peck would take it on lap 24.

Lapped traffic loomed ahead of Dietrich with 5 laps to go. As Danny was putting Rick Lafferty a lap down, Lafferty spun in turns 1 and 2 bringing out the caution on lap 27.

Dietrich paced the field ahead of Colagiovanni, Campbell, Norris and Peck for a three lap shoot out to complete the feature. Colagiovanni looked to the top in turns 1 and 2 but could not get past Dietrich for the lead.

Dietrich crossed the line .985 seconds ahead of Colagiovanni. Campbell finished third and Norris was fourth. Peck completed the top five.

Dylan Norris Starts off 358 Season with a Victory

After finishing fourth in the 410 feature earlier in the night, Dylan Norris lined up sixth for the start of the first 358 sprint car feature of the season. Norris was up to fourth for a lap 3 restart and continued to make his way to the front of the field. Norris made the winning pass on the white flag lap, scoring his second 358 division win at Lincoln.

Joe Timmins and Tyler Ulrich made up the front row for the start of the 20-lap feature and led the field side-by-side coming out of turn 2. Jayden Wolf got by Timmins for second and Cody Fletcher followed moving into third.

Ayden Hare and Justin Foster got together in turn 4 bringing out the yellow on lap 2. Doug Hammaker was also involved and suffered front wing damage. Hammaker made a trip to the pits ending his night. Hare and Foster rejoined the field.

Fletcher went to work on Wolf for second and took it coming out of turn 2. Wolf spun out while running third on lap 3 in turns 3 and 4 bringing out the caution.

Ulrich led Fletcher, Wyatt Hinkle, Norris and Steve Owings to the cone for the restart.

Owings got his nose under Norris to try and take fourth but Norris had his eyes set on taking third from Hinkle. Fletcher was all over Ulrich for the lead when the yellow came out for Josh Harner who had spun in turns 1 and 2.

Hinkle got under Fletcher for second on the restart and Norris was right there to challenge Fletcher for third and took the spot, sending Fletcher back to fourth.

Hinkle was searching for a way around Ulrich for the lead as Norris closed in. Ulrich was pulling away from the field as he closed in on lapped traffic.

Preston Lattomus and Andy Best got together in turns 1 and 2 bringing out the red on lap 14.

Ulrich, Hinkle, Norris, Owings and Fletcher made up the top five for the restart. Norris got by Hinkle for second leaving Hinkle to fend off Fletcher’s challenge for third.

Justin Foster and Jude Siegel got spun around in turn 3 bringing out the yellow on lap 16.

The top five for the final restart of the feature were Ulrich, Norris, Hinkle, Fletcher and Owings. Fletcher got by Hinkle to move up to third. Owings entered the battle and took fourth from Hinkle.

Norris was all over Ulrich for the lead with two to go. Norris took the top spot as the white flag waved.

Norris took the win by 1.124 seconds over Ulrich. Fletcher crossed the line third and Owings was fourth. Kyle Spence made a late race pass to finish fifth.
