$10,000 KICK-OFF TO THE CLASSIC GOES TO FREDDIE RAHMER; Jayden Wolf Back in Victory Lane

Abbottstown, PA (September 2, 2023) – Freddie Rahmer scored a big win over a stacked field on Saturday Night at the inaugural “Kick-off to the Classic.” Rahmer’s win was his 13th of the season and paid a hefty $10,000 to win, “It doesn’t matter what it pays to win, we just want to win them but that is a nice bonus.”

Rahmer timed second quickest in the field of 33-cars and finished fifth in his heat race putting him the redraw for the feature start, “We got luck in the pill draw to go out early in time trials and snuck through the heat race.”

Freddie started on the front row next to pole-sitter, Lance Dewease, and took the lead when the green flag dropped, “We were pretty good there. A lot of restarts with good guys behind us.”

With his win Rahmer is locked into Sunday’s Dirt Classic dash along with Brent Marks, Anthony Macri and Danny Dietrich.

Pole-sitter, Lance Dewease, led the field into turn 1 with Rahmer using the top to take the lead coming out of turn 2. Danny Dietrich moved into third with Chase Dietz in fourth and Anthony Macri in fifth. Aaron Bollinger spun in turn 4 bringing out the caution on lap 2.

The top five was stacked for the restart, Freddie, Dewease, Dietrich, Dietz and Macri. Freddie drove through the middle of turns 1 and 2 with Dewease on the bottom not able to make a pass for the lead.

Brent Marks got by Macri for a spot in the top five as Danny was working on Dewease for second.

Riley Emig spun in turn 4 in front of the leads, bringing out the yellow on lap 4.

Marks got under Dietz for fourth just as Danny did wheelie coming off of turn 2 allowing Marks to take third as well. Dietrich was looking to reclaim the spot when the yellow came out for yet another incident in turn 4. This time it was Moody spinning in the turn on lap 6.

Freddie led Dewease, Marks, Danny and Macri on the restart. Marks looked under Dewease in turns 3 and 4 but Lance held the spot. Macri had a solid run off of turn 2 on Danny but Dietrich held fourth at the line by inches on lap 10. Anthony slid Danny on lap 11 and this time it stuck, sending Macri to fourth. Danny was right there and there was a close call between the two drivers in turn 2 with Macri holding onto the spot.

Rahmer was pulling away from Dewease and the rest of the field as he closed in on lapped traffic at the half-way point of the feature.

Marks tried again for second and this time had it by an inch at the line on lap 17. Macri followed sending Dewease back to fourth. Lance, Danny and Justin Peck raced in a three-car battle for fourth with Danny coming out triumphant on lap 20.

Marks was closing in on Freddie as they raced through lapped traffic when the caution came out on lap 23 when Sam Hafertepe spun in turn 4.

Rahmer, Marks, Macri, Dietrich and Dewease made up the top five for the restart. Rahmer had a good restart with Marks and Macri holding their positions behind him. Dewease was fighting off Tanner Thorson and Peck as they challenged him for fifth. Lance was able to pull away leaving Thorson and Peck to continue their battle.

Tyler Ross did a 360 spin in turn 4 on lap 27 bringing out another caution.

Marks had a better restart but still could not challenge Rahmer for the lead. Dietrich was all over Marci for third and Peck moved into fifth after getting by Dewease.

With a guaranteed starting spot in Sunday’s Dirt Classic on the line, Peck made a last ditch effort coming to the checkered for fourth.

Rahmer took the checkered flag for the $10,000 win 1.066 seconds ahead of Marks. Macri crossed the line third and Dietrich claimed the final spot in Sunday’s Dirt Classic dash. Despite a solid last lap effort to try and take fourth, Peck settled for fifth.

Jayden Wolf Back in Victory Lane

Nat Tuckey took the lead when the green flag waved with Chase Gutshall and Frankie Herr battling for second. Herr took second and then battled Tuckey for the lead. The caution came out on lap 1 when Gutshall spun in turn 1, Chase had been running third. Gutshall collected Steve Owings in the spin.

Tuckey led Herr, Jayden Wolf, Doug Hammaker and Logan Rumsey to the cone for the restart. Herr was on Tuckey’s bumper for the lead and made the pass coming out of turn 2 to take the top spot on lap 3.

Wolf went to work on Tuckey for second as Hammaker closed in on both of them. Wolf moved into the runner-up spot through turns 1 and 2 and took second on lap 5. Wolf started to reel in Herr to battle for the lead. Jayden had the lead by a nose at the line on lap 7. Herr stuck with him to try and reclaim the spot.

Kody Hartlaub got by Rumsey  and was up to fourth as Wolf started to pull away from the field. Hartlaub was trying to close in on Herr with five laps to go to challenge for second. Kody made the pass for the spot in heavy lapped traffic on the last lap.

Wolf crossed the line a whopping 4.706 seconds ahead of Hartlaub. Herr finished third and Hammaker was fourth. Rumsey completed the top five.
